Present that Humphrey Fyshe (Fish) held by free deed fealty suit of court and yearly rent or service of finding one man in harvest yearly called a Bedreap on one close called Ramseys with appurtanences in Ickwell. Since the last court he has conveyed it to his son Humphrey Fyshe who devised it to his brother Henry Fish Palmer who, not appearing to do his duty, precept etc.
Present Humphrey Fyshe as before re. duty to find one Bedreap for each of two cottages and a close of pasture late in the occupation of John Wiltshire, Richard Wiltshire, Stephen Thomas. Precept etc

Present that Owen Thomas Bromsall, esq, while living had by free deed feaulty suit of court and yearly rent or service of finding on Bedreap at harvest 3 acres of land in Ickwell called St John's piece Leys Ducks Mary Slades and Doctor's Pastures with appurtenances. He died since the last court siezed of this land and Elizabeth Bromsall his widow and relict claims the same for life by marriage settlement. Does not appear to have done the duty. Precept etc.

Present that Thomas Carter while living held by free deed fealty suit of court and the yearly rent or service of finding one man in the time of harvest one messuage with appurtenances and a close thereunto adjoining in Ickwell and 10 acres of land lying in the fields of Ickwell, Northill and Caldecott now in the occupation of William Tilcock and did before his death settle the same on his son Isaac Carter, who is also since dead, and the same is now descended to his son Isaac Carter and he not appearing to do his duty precept etc.
Present that John Merril held by free deed fealty suit of court and yearly rent or service of finding one man in time of harvest - one cottage a close and some arable land with the appurtenances in Ickwell formerly in the occupation of Abraham Rogers and now of Edward Aspital and has sold the same to one Smith, who not appearing to do her duty precept etc.
Present that John Merril held as above - one cottage with appurtenances in Ickwell in the occupation of John Pearson and since the last court sold and conveyed the same to John Francis who not appearing to do his duty precept etc.
Present that ---- Johnson held by free deed etc certain lands in Ickwell called the Lady's Fields since the last court sold the same to ---- Reynolds, who not appearing to do his duty precept etc.

Present Elizabeth the wife of William Foster who held by free deed fealty suit of court and the yearly rent of finding one man in the time of harvest one messuage and a close of pasture with appurtenances in Caldecott since the last court sold and conveyed to George Radley who not appearing to do his duty a precept is awarded etc.
Present Elizabeth Foster as before on one other messuage with a close called the pightle adjoining since the last court sold to Thomas Hartup, precept etc.
Present William Tompion who held as above one messuage with appurtenances in Caldecott. William died seized of the property which descended to Thomas Tompion.

Orders.
Every man with 20 acres fallow land may keep 40 sheep and after than rate for a greater or lesser quantity two sheep to an acre of fallow 4d for every sheep above that.
No hogs shall go upon the commons unwrung paid 1s.
No mares or any infected horses upon the commons pain 6s8d.
As soon as any piece is cleared in the Tilth? Field the cows shall be turned on and that no sheep shall come into the Tilth Field till a week after harvest be home in that field, nor into the Brach Field till a week after Old Michaelmas pain for every sheep 4d.

No new beasts on the Baulks and hoydons[?] till Lammas or harvest which shall come first yearly and no longer and after such time to be left for the horses to go. Pain 5s for every offence.
No sheep be kept upon Ickwell or Cadecott Green from Lady Day till St Andews yearley except on shearing days. Pain 4d per sheep.
No man shall keep for a cottage more than three cows or one horse and one cow and six sheep. Pain 3s4d for every offence.
No man shall keep on the Common field or Common above four horses for threescore acres of land or Ley Ground, nor above one horse more for every 20 acres more. Pain 3s4d for every offence.
No man shall keep above two horses on the horses commons until Midsummer yearly. Pain 3s4d for every offence.
No man shall keep above one horse on the commons for 15 acres or arable land or Ley Ground. Pain 3s4d for every offence.
No sheep shall go over the highway into the meadows nor into Munks Mead or Red Marsh nor any of Northill or Ickwell Meadows. Pain 4d for every sheep.
No man shall let his commons to any person who is not a farmer or a cottager within this manor. Pain 10s from the person and 10s from the person who shall hire.
Presented that Thomas Beaumont has inclosed a piece of ground containing about half an acre at Nether Caldecott adjoining Pettit's Close as several ground which ought to lye as the field lyes. Ordered that Thomas Beaumont do lay out the same immediately or forfeit £5 and like sum of £5 for every year that the same may be kept inclosed.
Nominate and appoint for field Reeves for the year ensuing or until others are sworn in their stead - Thomas Woodward and James Curtiss.
Present that Henry Fish Palmer esq holds by free deed and yearly rent or service of finding one man in time of harvest yearly - one close called Ramseys in Ickwell; a cottage and close of parsture in Ickwell formerly in the occupation of John Wiltshire and Richard Wiltshire; one cottage in Ickwell formerly in the occupation of Stephen Thomas; one other cottage in Ickwell formerly in the occupation of Thomas Rush and late of Joseph Backhouse; one messuage a close of pasture and 4 acres of land in Ickwell formerly in the occupation of Francis Clarke and late of John Bonfield; messuage and other close of pasture in Ickwell formerly in the occupation of Thomas Tingey and late of Benjamin Taylor; messuage and diverse lands in Ickwell formerly in the occupation of William Pateman and late of William Noakes; messuage in Over Caldecott formerly in the occupation of Benjamin Squire and late of John Ivory Junr. All being late the estate of Humphrey Fyshe esq, his brother. By deed poll dated 24 March 1739 Henry Fish Palmer agreed with the Lord of the Manor to pay the sum of 10s yearly and every year as composition for and in lieu and satisfaction of the said 8 several Bedreaps, it being after the rate of 1s3d for each Bedreap and that Henry Fish Palmer has ever since paid 10s to the Lord of the Manor accordingly.
Present that John Robinson esq, deceased, whilst living held by free deed and yearly service of finding on man at harvest - 3 acres of land in Northill called St John's Piece Leys, Duck's Mary Slades and Doctors Pastures now in the occupation of Samuel Tingey formerly the estate of Owen Thomas Bromsall; one close of land or pasure in Ickwell called Limmings now in the occupation of William Lamb; several lands in Northill purchased of Mary Bromsall of Biggleswade now in the occupation of Edward Tingey; one messuage in Northill formerly in the occupation of Edward Cooper, since of the widow Aems and now of Michael Humphreys; [end of second membrane] messuage and 2 acres in Northill formerly in the occuaption of John Woodward since of widow Aems and now of Michael Humphreys; messuage and close of pasture in Neither Caldecott formerly in the occupation of Sibthorpe widow, since of William Somers and now of Eustace Merriweather; one cottage in Thorncott in formerly in the occupation of Richard Barr, since of Thomas Barber and now of Edward Tingey. John Robinson died and by his will dated 7 July 1769 devised the same to John Meggott Elweys esq, General John Lambton esq and Joseph Palmer, gent upon trust. Whereupon seven Bedreaps or reliefs, now at this court the trustees by their attorney Edward Cooch the younger acknowledged and paid to the Lord 8s9d for the seven reliefs it being after the rate of 1s3d for each and also paid all arrears to Michaelmas last after the rate of 8s9d every year and therir fealtys are respited etc.
Present that Humphry Monoux and Elizabeth his wife (formerly called Elizabeth Bromsall widow of Owen Thomas Bromsall) while living held for their natural lives by free deed and yearly service: - messuage and close in Caldecott formerly in the occupation of John Merrill, since of Richard Daniel and now of John Toller; one cottage in Caldecott formerly in the occupation of William Grey, since of Edward Tomkyn and now of William Reynolds. Humpry and Elizabeth Monoux have died and the premises descended to Robert Thornton esq by virtue of a settlement dated 27 November 1744. Two reliefs at the rate of 1s 3d each Bedreap and yearly rent of 1 and a half pence amonts to 2s7 and a half pence. Robert Thornton sold and conveyed the premises to James Harvey. James Harvey came into court and acknowledged the premises and paid the Lord of the Manor 5s3d for the four reliefs and paid all arrears of the yearly rents to Michaelmas last and his fealty is respited etc.
Present John Atterton whilst living held by free deed and service: - messuage and close of pasture in Caldecott now in the occupation of John Toller; piece of pasture called Bryants in Nether Caldecott now in the occupation of John Toller; certain lands in Caldecott (part of 60 aces) formerly the estate of Anne Bishop now in the occupation of John Toller. John Atterton died and by his will dated 28 March 1723 and of certain articles of agreement or deeds of partition made and executed since his death by his devisees the same are now vested in Thomas Woodward whereof three Bedreaps or reliefs have become due to the Lord of the Manor. Thomas Woodward by his attorney John Toller acknowledged the premises and paid 3s9d for the 3 reliefs and all arrears to Michaelmas last and his fealty is respited etc.
Present Reynolds whilse living held by free deed and service certain lands in Ickwell called the Ladys Field now in the occupation of John Harvey. Reynolds died and the lands are now the property of Katherine, wife of William Clarke of Lynn in the County of Norfolk, merchant lately called Katherine Reynolds the widow of the said Reynolds, but she not appearing at this court to do her duty a precept is awarded etc. [end of page 5]
Present Thomas Tompion held by free deed and service of one man at harvest one messuage in Caldecott now in the occupation of Jane Shelton widow since last court aliened the same to ---- Squire of Stanford Mill, but not appearing to do his duty a precept is awarded.
Present John Atterton who whilst living held by free deed and service certain lands in Caldecote (part of 60 acres) now in the occupation of Thomas King which by his will and certain conveyances became vested in Elizabeth Beaumont, who is since dead and the premises now belong to Thomas Beaumont of Biggleswade, butcher, the son of the said Elizabeth. Thomas Beaumont not appearing a precept is awarded.
Present that ----Woods sometime since held by free deed and service one messuage and diverse lands in Caldecott heretofore the lands of Richard Titmarshe now in the occupation of Thomas Beaumont and since the last court the lands have been aliened to Thomas Beaumont, who not appearing a precept is awarded.
Present George Radley who while living held by free deed and service one messuage and a close of pasture in Caldecott formerly the estate of Giles Found and afterwards of Elizabeth Foster and now in the several occupations of John Brittain, Thomas Mayes and others; one other messuage with close called the Pightell adjoining formerly the estate of Giles Found, then Elizabeth Foster and since Thomas Hartup. George Radley died leaving ----- now the wife of John Brittain his daughter and heir at law, but she not appearing a precept is awarded.
Present Isaac Carter the younger who whilst living held by free deed and service one messuage and a close adjoining in Ickwell and 10 acres of land lying in the fields of Ickwell Northill and Caldecott or out of them formerly in the occupation of William Tilcock and now of the widow Burridge. Isaac Carter died and the same is now descended to his daughter -----now the wife of James Humberstone, but she not appearing a precept is awarded.
