He will have received from Mr Cotchin his [Mr Ashton's] reply to his on 7 January. Would not have been proper of him to back Bill if Corporation of Luton had opposed him and he had had to support opposition in House of Commons. Is now glad to hear they have come to terms. Will back Bill if not too late.
