- Scope and ContentIn the Borough of Luton Rex -v- Sydney Buckingham and William Andrews The 12th day of July 1922 Sydney Buckingham (hereinafter called the Accused) having been this day charged before one (a) of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the said Borough for that he, the Accused on the 24th day of June 1922,in the Borough aforesaid (b) feloniously did break and enter the dwellinghouse there situate of Hugh Cumberland of “The Lynchet” Hart Hill and therein feloniously did steal 18 silver plated dessert knives, 17 silver plated dessert forks, 22 silver plated table forks, 2 large silver plated spoons, 1 silver mustard pot, 1 bone pick, 1 small Sardine Fork, 1 glass rose bowl, 1 Sheffield plated tray, 2 dessert dishes Sheffield Plate, 1 silver mustard spoon, 3 plated salt pot stands, 2 leather cigar cases, 1 glass decanter, 1 silver pickle fork, 4 silver spoons, 1 bottle containing Lime-juice cordial and a bag value together £30 the property of the said Hugh Cumberland contrary to the Larceny Act 1916 s. 26 And having been committed for trial upon such charge at the next Court of Quarter Sessions to be holden at the Shire Hall, Bedford in and for the County of Bedford.
