"...meantime with a thankful heart, I can report progress. She is as you know, preparing for her confirmation on Thursday next, and the good which this has done her in her bearing, her speech, her ways-a good that no one living with her can doubt (renewing for one thing her friendship with Miss Stone) has quickened my own faith in Christianity...I only hope that this goodness may continue and grow, so that you and Mrs. Hewitt may be gladdened by it too." This was presumably wirtten to J.J Hewitt, with whom Gertrude Mary Worcester lived. On back of letter is a note in a later hand stating that it must be 60 years old and might be destroyed.
