Recites: £150.00 paid from (3) to (1) on 15 January 1895 on account of mortgage for £300.00 Will of (3) of 13 July 1895 and death of (3) on 2 September 1895 (2) Sole executor of will. In consideration of £150.00 (1) grants to (2): Discharge of the principal money and interest secured by the said mortgage. 9 April 1910 Indenture of mortgage between: 1) Jesse Gadsden Thorne 2) Elizabeth Broad Consideration £325.00 Recites: All that piece of land situate in Bower Lane, Eaton Bray in the County of Bedford and adjoining the road leading from Eaton Bray to Totternhoe being Allotment No. 79 on the Eaton Bray Enclosure Award and containing 1 acre and 27 poles or thereabouts and then in the occupation of H W Couchman. 12 September 1911 Indenture of mortgage between: 1) Thomas John Broad & Henry Eustace Broad (executors) 2) Jesse Gadsden Thorne 3) Charles Henry Halsey (transferee) Consideration £325.00 Recites: Will of Elizabeth Broad of 18 November 1896 where (1) were appointed executors. Death of Elizabeth Broad on 1 March 1911, probate obtained 5 May 1911. Principal sum of £300.00 still owing. In consideration of £300.00 (1) grants to (3) mortgage ownership. Convenant for (2) to pay (3) principal sum of £300.00 plus interest. 16 March 1914 Indenture of transfer of mortgage between: 1) Charles Henry Halsey of Watford, Hertfordshire, auctioneer 2) Jesse Gadsden Thorne of the Blue Boar Hotel, Maldon, Essex, licensed victualler 3) Thomas Thorne of Luton, Bedfordshire, auctioneer Recites: Principal sum of £250.00 only still owing. Request for transfer of mortgage. Consideration £250.00, mortgage ownership transfers from (1) to (3) Convenant for (2) to pay (3) principal sum of £250.00 plus interest. Additions - 15 December 1914 - By will of this date the said Jesse Gadsden Thorne appointed his wife Annie Thorne to be the sole executrix. 28 April 1915 - Death of Jesse Gadsden Thorne 8 June 1915 - Will proven.
