Scope and Content
Sir John Burgoyne is willing to let Clay End Farm (284a. 2r. 22p.) excluding the land let to Mr Conder on a yearly tenancy from Michaelmas 1890 at a rent of £300 a year. Hay and wheat to be taken at market price, manure at valuation, and seeds and other acts of husbandry also at valuation. If underwood agrees to these terms he can enter on the fallow land at once, and Sir John would make no charge for the steam ploughing done on the farm. Tenancy will be subject to signed agreement containing the usual clauses applicable to the Sutton Estate with, as arranged, a clause by which the tenant will agree to drain such lands as require draining, the landlord finding pipes to the value of £25 in any one year. Requests early reply.
