    (i) Philip Gutteridge of Dunstable, brazier (ii) Ruth Pryor of Luton, spinster (iii) Chris Pryor of Stospley, Luton, farmer John Brown, Ampthill, grocer Marriage intended between (i) and (ii) Whereas: John Pryor of Luton, maltster dec. by will dated 12 Nov 1787 devised messuage with appurts in Ampthill in occ of son-in-law John Brown to wife Ann for life then to said John Brown charged with legacy of £60 each to testators children Chris, John and Ruth; also to Chris Pryor and John Brown £600 to be invested and profits paid to wife and after her death to be divided between Chris, John and Ruth Pryor and Ann wife of John Brown; Chris Pryor and John Brown appt. execs. who proved it in PCC Whereas: John Pryor one of the sons of testator having survived his f. lately d. in-testate; Ruth Pryor on dec. of her m. will be entitled to several sums of £60 and £150 by will of her f. and further £20 and £50 as next of kin of her brother deceased totalling £280. Now: Agree that this together with 1/3 share in est of Ann Pryor the m., during lives of (i) and (ii) and the survivor to be put out at intr. by (iii) Signature of (i)-(iii) Witnesses: Richard Brown and John Hooper Attached: Reciept by Chris Pryor surviving exec. of John Pryor late of Luton for £300 balance of legacies left to his daughter Ruth with of Philip Gutteridge. Endorsed: The £300 within mentioned is the trust money mentioned in the marriage settlement of Philip Gutteridge and Ruth Pryor 17 Apr 1790 ad in May 1827 was invested by Sam Brown one of the execs. of within mentioned Chris Pryor in the sum of £356.12s.3d 3& consols.
