Recieved a letter from Uncle Herbert [Johnson] asking John to dine at 23 Down Street and then go to a play with Grandmother and Aunt Edith. 'It was very jolly. Uncle's birthday party on the day before the anniversary. The play was 'The Superior Miss Pellender' at the Waldorf Theatre. Describes the plot.
