Be it remembered that on 5th March 1921 David Howell Jenkins of 36 Rothesat Place Luton & Arthur Bacon of Borough Police Office in the Borough of Luton personally came before me, one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said Borough & acknowledged himself to owe to our Sovereign Lord the King the sum of £10. of good lawful Money of Great Britian to be made & levied of his Goods & Chattels, Lands & Tenements, to the use of our said Lord the King, his Heirs & Successors if they the said David Howell Jenkins & Arthur Bacon shall fail the condition indorsed.
Taken & acknowledged the day & year above first mentioned at the Court House Luton before me. Edwin Oakley, one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the Borough of Luton.
The Condition of these Recognizance is such, That whereas Ernest Bailey, Arthur Cecil, Gilbert Roe & Horace Smart were this day charged with Larceny. If therfore they the said David Howell Jenkins & Arthur Bacon shall appear at the next Court of General Quarter Sessions of the Peace held at the Shire Hall Bedford & prefer or cause to be prefereda bill of Indictment against the said Bailey, Roe,& Smart for the offence aforesaid & duly prosecute such indictment & give evidence theron as well to the Jurors who shall the enquire of the said offence, as also to them who shall pass upon the trial of the said Bailey, Roe & Smart then the said Recognizance to be void or else to stand in full force & virtue.
