Sir, I have to give you notice that the next Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the County of Bedford, will be held at the Shire Hall, Bedford on Wednesday, the 5th day of January, 1921 at Eleven o’clock in the forenoon. BUSINESS DEPUTY CHAIRMAN. – To appoint a Deputy Chairman of Quarter Sessions. PRISON. – To appoint the Visiting Committee. (Handwritten in margins ‘1 Vacancy & 12 Justices’ THE LICENSING (CONSOLIDATION) ACT, 1910:- 1. To receive the Report of the County Licensing Committee (Copy sent herewith) 2. To appoint the County Licensing Committee 3. To consider the question of imposing charges in respect of Licensed Premises (Section 21). VACANCIES ON COMMITTEES, &c.-To appoint Justices to fill vacancies caused by the death of Lord St. John, and the retirement of Edward Joseph Jekyll, Esq., viz:- (a) Standing Joint Committee. (Handwritten comment ‘2 vacancies’) (b) Prison Visiting Committee (Handwritten comment ‘1 Vacancy’) Crossed out by hand (c) Assessors under the Clergy Discipline Act, 1892 (Handwritten comment ‘1 vacancy’) At the conclusion of the above-mentioned business the Justices will hear Appeals and Motions by Counsel (if any) and try Prisoners.
