- Scope and ContentIncludes a notice cut out from a newspaper 'MARRIED On the 25th inst, at the Cathedral, in this City, by the Ven Archdeacon Reece, Thos. Geo, son of James Askew, Esq., Odell, Bedfordshire, Eng., to Isabel Julia, fourth daughter of the late John Curtis, Esq., of Newport Pagnel, Bucks, England. No cards' Addressed 'My dear Bell'. Apologies for not acknowldging Isabel's last letter. Has received the POO for £2 but not the book. As Isabel can see from the address he has left Phillpotts after 16 years but soon got another berth. Think it will prove better at Mr Stoneham's as he has eight shops in the City. The one he is now manager at is in a new street near the Mansion House called Queen Victoria St and the rent is £1200 a year for the shop and basement. His wife has been confined again. No. 11 a stillborn girl but glad to say his wife is now about but far from strong, she is nursing baby 17 months old and cannot sit up yet through a weak spine. Has been a very severe winter over the last six months. Signed 'Your Affectionate Bro'
