    Comments about Libetys shop. Pleased that Pat and Christopher have recovered from having tonsils and adenoids removed. 'Ruth Beech is a most solid child'. There have been two cases of scarlet fever at Milton Ernest and two suspected cases, but none severe. Mrs Starey is normal again; she had a fainting fit and was kept in her room for a fortnight. Further comments about the Starey family of Milton Ernest. Hopes to go and stay at Hollydale for a few days to discuss some business matters with John; suggestions made by the agents - reduction of rents of course. Colonel Higgins has let Great Oaks Farm. Is having a water softener fitted tomorrow. Maude's arm is much better, though still bandaged. Writer has promised her a dog.
