Hon. the Lord Mayor conferredon the subject of Proposed Magistrates Association with representatives of those provinical benches wwhich have been actively interested in promoting the new body, & I am to say that his Lordship will call the inaugural conference of Magistrates at the Mansion House, or - in the event of larger rooms proving necessary - at the Guildhall, The Secretary of State will be represented thereat by Major Sir J L Baird, C.M.G., Parliamentary Under Secretary of State.
