- TitleLetter from Gertrude Longuet Higgins, Bull Hotel, Cambridge, to son Henry Hugh Longuet Longuet-Higgins.
- Date free textEaster Day 1919 [20 Apr]
- Production dateFrom: 1919 To: 1919
- Scope and ContentHas been remiss in writing; with Helen [maid] away and only 'very scratch and uncertain help' has been very busy and tired. Comments about Hugh meeting up with former acquaintances and friends. 'How discontented and dissatisfied people all over the world seem - are the seeds of real peace being sown I wonder?' Joan and David Wiliamson came for tea last Sunday. He was strongly of opinion that we had badly let the Russians down in the Crimea and southern Russia. The riots in India are distrubing. Enjoying visit to Cambridge. Will be interested to hear how interview went and the attractions laid out in trying to retain Hugh till 1 February.
