The King -v- Charles Fraser
Court of Trial: Bedfordshire Quarter Sessions held at Bedford.
Presentment of the Grand Jury: - Charles Fraser is charged with the following Offence: -
Statement of Offence: - Obtaining goods by false pretences, contrary to section 32(1) of the Larceny Act 1916
Particulars of Offence: - Charles Fraser on the thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and eighteen in the
County of Bedford with intent to defraud obtained from Harry Hassell a gold watch of the value of Ten pounds ten shillings by falsely pretending that a certain paper writing which he the said Charles Fraser then produced and delivered to the said Harry Hassell then was a good and valid order for the payment of ten pounds ten shillings and that he the said Charles Fraser then had authority to draw a cheque upon the London and Provincial Bank Limited situated at 3 Bank Buildings, Lothbury, London.
Charles Fraser has been previously convicted of obtaining money by false pretences at the Quarter Sessions held in and for the Citty of Bath on the 5th day of January 1917
Date of Trial: - 7th January 1920.
Plea: Guilty admits to previous convictions.
