- Scope and ContentSafely returned to Oxford. It has been very cold and frozen at night; there was skating yesterday. Bad sleat (sic) today. Has been to the 'Port Meadow' by the upper river to try it - it was very sticky. Went there yesterday and the ice was nowhere more that two inches above the meadow; as the meadow is not level the ice was all 'hills and dales and tussocks' so not as good [for skating] as Richmond Ponds, though a fun afternoon. Yesterday went to Mr Barton to settled what lectures to attend (gives details). Good to see other students again. The Master preached the sermon in chapel. Reference to bacon given by Mother and cost of a new back tyre.
