- Scope and Content(i) B & (ii) C Before the Court of Summary Jurisdiction sitting at Luton 29th March 1919. Leonard Williams (defendant) is convicted that on 16th March 1919 & on other dates within the preceding 6 months at Luton beig the occupier of a shop no 27 Hitchin Road , did use the the same for the purpose of unlawful betting with persons resorting thereto. And it is adjudged that the defendant be imprisoned at Bedford & be kept at hard labour for the space of 1 month, (to run concurrently with the sentence of 3 months Hard Labour awarded to the defendant in the previous case of stolen property). Leonard Williams (defendant) is convicted that on 26th March 1919 & on other dates within the preceding 6 months at Luton beig the occupier of a shop no 27 Hitchin Road , did knowingly & wilfully permit the same to be used for the purpose of unlawful gaming. And it is adjudged that the defendant be imprisoned at Bedford & be kept at hard labour for the space of 1 month, (to run concurrently with the sentence of 3 months Hard Labour awarded to the defendant in the previous case of stolen property).
