Letter to Henrietta Argenti from her brother George Sechiari, sent while he was serving in Salonika during the First World War.

Thanks for offer to do 'commissions' for the writer. Knows nothing of what goes on in other parts, but ocasionally gets to see and hear what is going on in the area before it is published. Is making a journey tomorrow [place redacted] which means a joy ride in a car, dine and sleep in camp and return the following day. Expects to be going back a day or so after to to take up quarters there for some time; will be more or less own master, and when work is slack can take 2 days leave. Expects to be very busy for the first few weeks to get things ship-shape. Is doing a kind of recruiting and deserter chasing job. Comments about the weather. Everything here is of rotton quality and expensive. Having a very good time and up to the present has been quite fit. [Some words redacted by censors]
