    1)John Robert Newby of the city of Manchester, gentleman. 2) Alfred Bradley of Bedford, builder. 1) conveys to 2) for the price of £315 3s 1d - all that piece of land situate on the west side of Bower Street containing 14,369 superficial feet or thereabouts, together with all rights. 2) to erect fence wall on the south side of the piece of land and on the west side a division or party wall not less than 6 feet in height above the level of the footpath. Party wall to be erected half on the piece of land hereby conveyed and half on lots 53 and 54 and built half at the expense of 2) and half at the expense of 1) or other the owner of the adjoining premises. Keep in repair half the width of the road opposite the land until such time as the said road may be taken over by the corporation of Bedford. The main wall of any buildings erected not to be nearer to the front of the land than shewn by the dotted line on the plan namely 5 feet. Not to erect more than 10 houses on the land, which houses shall not be of less value than £100 each. Not to permit the business of an innkeeper or victualler or retailer of wines spirits or beer, but beer and other malt liquor wines and spirits in bottles only may be sold on the piece of land.
