    It is believed this file has been weeded. It now contains: - Plan of Ashcroft Road land required for Roman Catholic School, Plan no 23786/TP827, scale 1:1250, by F Oliver Borough Engineer, shows Proposed school site area 5.75 acres and area of 4.97 acres adjoining surrounded by Langford Drive to the west, Turners Road to the south and Ashcroft Road to the east. 10 May 1960. - copy letter from Luton Town Clerk to the Clerk of Bedfordshire County Council re. the purchase notice confirmed by the minister of Housing and Local Government on 31 Jan 1956 and possession of an additional area of 1.05 acres. The letter goes on to report on the consideration of a letter which had complained of the condition of the remainder of the land to which the Purchase Notice related, which was being used by caravans and that holes had been used as cess-pools, and asking if something could be done to clear the site before the school opened in May 'In any case, in the past there have been instances of immoral conduct in the bushes and shrubs which are in full view from all the school classrooms'. Understood that occupiers of the caravans had been given notices to quit but that it would be difficult to obtain removal as there is no alternative site. Thought it would be better controlled if it were in the possession of the Authority and recommended notice be served under the provision of the deed to obtain possession of the whole of the remaining 3.92 acres of the site. 16 Feb 1962. - Valuation of rough land, approximately 10.72 acres, used for parking caravans. - Two lists of occupiers of caravans, 5 Oct 1962, March 1963. - Letter from Town Clerk to owners of caravans giving formal notice of termination of tenancy or licences and requiring removal, 22 March 1963. - Letter from Town Clerk to owners of caravans re. the notice to remove 26 March 1963. - Plan for caretaker's house and playing field, shows area of site 6.8 acres, position of housing by Pearce and Barker Ltd, position for caretaker's house, block plan of school, area for future playground, area for two pitches, a cricket square and equipment store. 32' to 1".
