- Date free text1923 onwards
- Production dateFrom: 1923 To: 1923
- Scope and ContentThe plan shows bridge No. 132 carrying the line over Wing Road. There are five tracks (Down and Up fast, Down and Up slow, and a siding). The station has six platforms: fast, slow and Dunstable branch platforms At the north end, the bridge No. 135 carries the lines over the Leighton Buzzard to Buckingham road. A further siding has been added making six tracks altogether Note that the Dunstable branch curves away to the east, on a falling gradient, thus crossing Wing Road on the level Also shown: small goods shed; engine sheds; horse and carriage siding; No. 1 signal box; large goods shed and crane; No. 2 signal box and three wagon turntables There is a supplementary plan showing the Dunstable branch now crossing Leadburn Road on the level. There is a turntable and stables for railway horses, and some oil tanks. Signal boxes (or cabins) are provided at the level crossings at Wing Road and Leadburn Road so that the usual gates can be operated As from 1967 the new Bletchley electronic signal cabin controlling the lines from Watford to Rugby have rendered cabins No. 1 and No. 2 unnecessary and these have been demolished The Dunstable branch is open for a short distance for chalk trains and therefore Wing Road and Leadburn Road cabins remain (as of 1970)
