    Colonel Frank Shuttleworth, deceased List of Pictures etc. not exempted. To Messrs Hooper and Fletcher, Biggleswade Gentlemen, With reference to your letter of the 13th March last applying for the exemption from death duties, under the provisions of Section 20 of the Finance Act, 1896, as extended by Section 63 of the Finance (1909-10) Act, 1910, of certain articles which formed part of the estate of the late Colonel Frank Shuttleworth, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury to inform you that, with the exception of those enumerated in the accompanying list, all the articles in question appear to Their Lordships to be of National, Scientific, Historic or Artistic interest within the meaning of the above sections. The Commissioners of Inland Revenue have been informed accordingly. Staircase Hall and Stairway to Billiard Room A Chippendale winged settee, with high back, the seat, arms and back stuffed and covered with flowered tapestry cloth, on cabriole legs carved with foliage, and ball and claw feet - 73 inches wide. Saloon A Chinese oviform vase and cover, enamelled with flowers and branches on black ground - 24 inches high - Kienlung on Rosewood stand. A Nankin vase, decorated with branches of prunus blossom an marbled blue ground - 12.5 inches high - on carved wood stand.
