    Reciting - mortgage of 5 Jul 1653 referred to in X 458/7/2 - will and death of Timothy Middleton; - will of Thomas Middleton senior of 10 Jun 1668 in which, amongst other things, he devised his Cranfield lands to Thomas Bromfield upon trust for sale, the money being divided amongst the children of Thomas Middleton senior except his eldest son Thomas Middleton junior, making Thomas Bromfield his executor, his wife Constance and Thomas Middleton junior being joint executors after the death of Thomas Bromfield. Thomas Middleton senior then died and his will was proved by Thomas Bromfield who, along with Constance Middleton, was now dead leaving Thomas Middleton junior sole executor of the will of Thomas Middleton senior Witnessing For £425/5/- paid to him by William Feild, Thomas Middleton junior conveyed to William Feild (a) close of arable and sward called Nether Ploughed Close, formerly part of Great Ridlands, and part of the former grove adjoining, in Cranfield with ground of Peter Edwards to South and formerly in occupation of Thomas Perkins, containing 15 acres; (b) ground of 1 acre at the East end of (a) and adjoining continued ground of William Feild, part of Washingley; (c) five closes of pasture called Ridlands with adjoining grove, part of which is now pasture on South side of messuage formerly in occupation of Bray Chamberlaine, now of William Ring, called Leigh Lodge, now divided into several pightles, one of which is an orchard adjoining Leigh Lodge; (d) one rood of ground taken out of the upper corner of a close called Upper Plowed Close (itself part of Great Ridlands), next to Cooks Green where there is a pond; (e) cottage in Cranfield in occupation of Edward Doe, formerly of George Hartwell (a)-(e) being part of the Manor of Rutlands also Ridlands also Rudland Fields Witnesses: Charles Dymoke; C.
