Both properties were designed by John Manning when working for Fuller Hall and Foulsham (Hemel Hempstead) 1973-1975.
An account by John Manning about this:
"When the Planning Consent had been granted my brother Robert and I wondered what to do; so I rang up Barclays Bank in Luton (from Hemel Hempstead) - I was not a customer (aged about 28) and I asked if I could borrow £80,000 to carry out the development - I was ushered into the red carpeted Director's suite they lent it to me without security!"
