Indenture of lease dated 20 March 1623 between John Chapman of Dunstable and William Leache[?] of Stanbridge, yeoman.
- All that messuage where the said John Chapman did then dwell situate in the east end of Dunstable or Church End, between the tenement of Thomas Pitkyn on the east and a little lane there called the church lane on the west abutting northwards the highway called Icknell Street and southwards towards a lane that leads to the church. Term 500 years. Rent one peppercorn.

By his Indenture of lease bearing date with these presentments has granted and farme lett to John Pedder three acres of arable land and appurtenances lying and being in the field of Houghton Regis called the south innings whereof one acre lyeth between the land late John Tipladye and abutting along the Houghton way towards the west and the other two acres lye together between the land late John Davies now Robert P'te[?] abutting towards the south on Icknell Way. Term 1000 years.
Now 1) grants to 2). If 2) pays to 1) 64 pounds and 16 shillings by 18 Feb 1637 then the indenture to be void.
