Scope and Content
Ms Hillyard was a teacher and chose this subject as one that interests children. The material as primary sources not all being particularly accessible to non-historians she took the approach of following a man charged with stealing a watch from detection to discharge from prison and described his experience, explaining the documents from which she had derived information and for what aged children they might be suitable.
