Outlines the town council's position that 'the Girls' School shall be established under the Chew's Foundation scheme as soon as possible, on condition that the reservations for poor boys of the funds of the Charity shall be a first charge, and that £40 be applied as Clothing Scholarships to 20 boys at the Ashton Elementary School in addition to £60 for Scholarships to the Grammar School. Mr Micheson explained the position of the Board of Education.
