  • Scope and Content
The report, signed off by Arthur E Langridge, Edward Franklin and Fred T Garrett as representatives of Dunstable town council, gives details of the Board of Education's decisions in relation to £200 that the trustees of the Ashton charity scheme of 1885 are bound to expend. The County Council should help the trustees in the maintenance of the Grammar School and the £200 released from the Elementary Schools could be applied to the Grammar School. The Town Council claimed that the £200 should be applied in relief of the Education Rate for the Borough of Dunstable. The County Council contended that the oblications for expenditure had transferred to the County Council. Mr Micheson explained what the £200 could be used for the decision belonging to the Board but the board could not alter the present scheme without the consent of the town council.
