    The article outlines four generations of Micklethwaite photographers starting in Newry, Ireland with William Barton Micklethwaite emigrating to Canada in the early 1870s, followed by his son Frank in 1875. Frank died in 1925 and the business passed to his son Fred, who died 1941 and the Frank's grandson, John Research in 2022 on Ancestry UK: 1851 census: William Barton Micklethwaite aged 34, married to Mary, 37, in Ashton under Lyne as a lithopress printer 1861 cenusus: still in Ashton as a printer, stationer & commissioning agent 1871 census: in Heckmondwike, Yorkshire as a photographer with son, Frank as assistant. Newspaper advertising in 1872 shows Willliam Barton Micklethwaite 'of Heckmondwike and Biggleswade' taking over the photographic business of D. Welch in Newry. The reverse of a photograph taken by W. B. Micklethwaite (slide number 2013/2014) has an imprint featuring addresses in Heckmondwike and Biggleswade.
