Garden Party at Professor Richardson's 'Mr A.E. Marples M.P. will speak.' Grandfather going to the registrar's at Streatham where Aunt Ada died in a nursing home. 'Fred Grimmer is doing well at farming [Mettingham Hall, Suffolk]. When he came out of the amy he had saved £500. Grandad says he has improved the place a lot and got several men working for him...

Called on Gertie at Weybread [Gertie Richardson, married to Revd Frank Richardson]. 'Saw the parson but she was out at Norwich. The parson remembered & asked about you.' 'After visit scuttled off to Walberswick, they have made a mess of the front with a new sea wall, cranes, diggers and bulldozers all over the shop... ' Stayed the night at the caravan. Collected cousin Join Grirrmer & wife Eva for funeral. Hearse 10 minutes late. Called in on Mettingham 'Aunt Edith enquired about you.' Registrar difficult at Streatham. 'Mr C - Grandfather's solicitor at Ampthill, Codrington. 'Aunt Edith' aged a lot. Saw Jackson (of Shuttleworth Collection) 'and told him they had not rigged the Bleriot correctly 9shown on television). He said it was a mock up from ours as Warden Aviation would not let television or other folk muck original about' Aunt Ada's affairs - 'I may have a very few of her coppers left'
