Sir, I directed by the Prison Commissioners to transmit to you for the information of the Court of Quarter Sessions as representing the late Prison Authority of Bedford Prison, a copy of the particulars of Service, &c., of the above-named Officer, who is about to retire from his office. These particulars will be at once submitted to the Treasury, in order that a retired Allowance may be awarded to the above-named Prison Officer, under the Prison Act, 1877; and the terms of the award will be communicated to you in due course.
