Article regarding Brian Hopkinson, known as Hoppy, in hospital in Bedford for prolonged treatment on his legs. In the past he had played rugby league for many years with Huddersfield. To cheer him up, Maggie Fuller (landlady of the Fox, Carlton) contacted his old club. They responded by sending a collection of memorabilia to present to Hoppy. On 19th January, the reserve tream played at Fulham, and later called in at the Fox. The landlords Alan and Maggie laid on a generous spread and the club presented the gifts to Joyce Hopkinson with best wishes for Hoppy's recovery.
