    Roy William Mellors, who was nicknamed Ginger, was born in 1925. He worked in the Northamptonshire shoe industry in 1939. It is presumed that his time in the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment 1st Battalion signals was due to National Service. After his time in India he returned to Northamptonshire and in 1948 married Margaret Bland. The couple had four children, three boys and a girl. Mr Mellors died in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire in September 1982.
