- Scope and Content1) William Tindall Lucas of Foxholes Hitchin, esq, Henry Fielder Johnson of 18 Theobalds Road, Luton and Frederick Ashfield Wright of Hitchin, solicitor 'the Trustees' 2) Frederic Seebohm, William Tindall Lucas and Hugh Exton Seebohm all of Hitchin, bankers 'the vendors' 3) Barclay and Company Limited 'the company'. Supplemental to an indenture called the principal indenture dated 5th Nov 1857. Recites: - death of Francis Lucas on 29 June 1896 and his will dated 3 May 1894 whereby he appointed the trustees as executors. Vendors have contracted with the company for the sale of messuage or tenement. Consideration £600 . All those hereditaments comprised in the principal indenture of which the modern descriptions is All that messuage and premises part of a shop and yard dituate at the corner of Market Place and Bedford Street in Ampthill having a frontage to Market Place by which it is bounded on the south of 12 feet 9 inhces or thereabouts and to Bedford Street by which it is bounded on the este of 34 feet 6 inches or thereabouts and having a side entrance from the Oxslip now in the occupation of Mr Henry Richard James Swaffiled as a yearly tenant under the terms of a certain expired indenture of lease to him dated the 23 Sept 1881 at an annual rental of £30. Also that small piece of land enclosed by iron railings a fronting on Market Place aforesaid for which an accommodation rent of one shilling per annum is paid to the Highway Authorities all which premises hereby conveyed are shown on the plan by the colour pink.
