Letter from Bessie Matthews to her uncle Thomas Hooper. [Relates to 31 York Street, Newport Monmouthshire].

“My mother is at Ilfracombe and I have forwarded your letter to her. From the Glamorgan clergy list I have taken address of the Revd David Howell, St Johns Vicarage, Charles Street, Cardiff. The house we are living in has been built twenty or thirty years. When we came to it about ten years ago there was a place above us unoccupied and on it (I should think four years since) two houses were built. Nos 31 and 32. The houses above 32 are all much older [sketch of street]. I think it may be difficult for Mamma to get a Cardiff directory so hasten to send you the information I have been able to get.”
