Scope and Content
He found a sack marked 'Joseph Barker No. 34' containing four bushels of barley, had been stolen from his barn. He went to the mill but found nothing. Heard that John Arnald of Cardington, had sold some to James Careless, Bedford, shoemaker. Careless told him he had sent it to be ground at Bromham mill. He was convinced that the barley he saw at Bromham mill was his, 'there being dirt and tares in it'. (sic). See QSR1818/ 206, 294, 296, 301, 534.
