    'In the ale house late Barnes in Bedford' ... Thomas Ingram, late of the Bedfordshire Militia 'pretending to shake hands with him flung a half penny into his deponant's hand and then told him he was entered to serve His Majesty King George'. After this he demanded money for satisfaction which Somerfield refused then Thomas Ingram got John Lightfoot, John Somerfield and Thomas Bird to assist him and followed William Somerfield home to Cotton End. Thomas Bird pretending to be a constable broke open the door and demanded money; and made a great riot in the house for two hours, all for assisting.'
