A few examples are:
1939 from Longhurst & Skinner bill for 3 x 3' wool matresses to unpick, card contents, add extra wool and remake at a cost of £5-3s-9d. Henrietta has handwritten 'For refugees'
1940 three 12 month guarantees for 'Phoenix Clear Glass ovenware
1940 from John James & Sons, sheet metal workers, for mending large enamel jug and repair large tin box 19 shillings
1941 from Longhurst & Skinner, Bedford, Stripping lavatory seat, repolishing same and fitting new rubber pads 8/9d. Also for stoving 3 x 3' wool matresses and 7 cushions 17/6d
1941 Reciept from E P Rose & Sons Ltd., Bedford, for fashion fabrics and furnishings
1941 from John Bull & Co. repair of silver teaspoons 1/6d
