  • Scope and Content
Elizabeth Reynolds has seen Helen Bright several times knock the child backwards and threaten to kill him. On Saturday morning Elizabeth Reynolds heard Helen Bright beat the child unmercifully and 'called out to her to have mercy .... and desired her not to kill it which she would do if she continued to beat it at that rate - the child's name is john and is about three years old. The child when it was taken from its grandmother ... was a fat healthy looking child ... and it's present unhealthy appearance is occasioned by ill-treatment and want of food. The week before last she saw its mother-in-law [step mother] knock the child into the fire when it was much burnt. The marks are still remaining,' Also information of Elizabeth, wife of William Wildman, bricklayer.
