    --- Richard Ansell, late Elstow, gentleman, deceased, declared to the deponent about 15 years ago that his other brother Charles Ansell owed him £10 and no more, and that about 1 month later he told the deponent that he would release Charles Ansell from all debts for £5, 'and that he would allow the first five pounds of the said £10.... towards the expense and charge his brother Charles had been put to by lying in prison for him', and that Charles Ansell after the death of Richard Ansell tendered the £5 to Barbara, widow of Mr. Ansell who refused it. witness.
