Scope and Content
Large bundle relating to conversion of Residential Centre into Outdoor Pursuits Centre by BCC working jointly and in agreement with the Harpur Trust (on completion the building was to be taken over and run by the Local Authority and, after expiry of its 99 year lease, to revert to the Trust).
Comprises Project Papers: Bill of Quantities, working drawings, specifications for mechanical and electrical installations; correspondence and papers (2 files made into one) regarding extension, renovation and adaption of the property (including notes of inspections, tenders, reports of site visits, draft agreement for lease of premises, various Committee Reports); repair and maintenance of road from Blue Peris to Allt Ddu; grant of drainage easement from owner of Blue Peris Farm to the trustees of Bedford Charity; appointment of warden; complaints about the new centre by local residents; building defects; and grant of easements into the drainage system for owners of Nos 2-3 Blue Peris House.
