    --- burial in Holwell church 'neare to my frende' --- to son William & heirs of his body, after decease of testator's father Robert Hanscombe, all land and tenements called Waltershies alias Waltershiers, Holwell & Shillington, remainder to son Thomas & heirs of his body, remainder to son John ditto, remainder to son Richard ditto, remainder to son Matthew, ditto, remainder to right heirs of testator in fee --- to son John & heirs of body all lands and tenements Holwell & Shillington called Obbytt land, remainder to son Richard ditto, remainder to son Matthew ditto, remainder to right heirs of testator. provided that no one of testator's children have both these properties --- to wife Ales, £40 and best featherbed, 3 matresses, 3 coverlets, 3 blankets, 2 bolsters, 3 pillows, 3 pillow beeres, ten pairs of sheets, all to be of the best sort, 2 of the best tablecloths & one of the worst, 2 towels, the best and one of the worst, and all the painted cloths hanging in the chamber in which the testator lies, 2 bedsteads and a trundle bed standing most south in the said chamber, and 3 coffers in the south end of the said chamber, and testator's new cupboard and best brass pot, saving one, best brass pan saving one, best kettle saving one, 1 little kettle, 1 posnet, a skillet, a skimmer, a thin 'gost panne' and a frying pan, a chafing dish, a latten ladle, a little trivet, 4 good half sheets, and 2 of best milch cows, and 10 of wether sheep, all to be well kept at charges of executors during her widowhood, and 2 hogs, 6 hens, 6 ducks, with a cock and a drake, to be kept as above, 3 acres of best barley, 2 acres of best wheat, and 1 acre of best peas growing on any of the land occupied with the house where testator dwells, to be chosen yearly during her widowhood, and to have the wheat barn to lay the grain in, the grain to be carted well and sufficiently by executors, and to have the kitchen and loft over it, the chamber where testator lies, and the maids chamber during her widowhood, and executor to give her yearly during her widowhood 2 cartloads of wood and every year as much wood as she shall spend. Also a table standing in the great chamber, one new little chair, 1 joined stool, 2 little stools, 2 tubs, 2 kymnels, 2 bowls, the lesser powdering tub, 8 pewter platters, 6 pewter dishes, 4 saucers, 3 candlesticks, 2 cruses with covers, 2 of the best salts, 3 pottingers, of pewter, 3 wooden dishes, and a dozen tin spoons, 2 of the best cushions, 2 of the coarser, 1 bench banker, 3 table napkins --- to daughter Elizabeth, 1 featherbed, mattress, blanket, 8 pairs of good sheets, 1 bolster, 1 coverlet, 1 pillow, 2 pillow beeres, 3 table napkins, 1 table cloth, a towel, & £20.
