  • Title
Letter from R.C. Slade & Son to T J Hooper. Mrs Matthews showed the writer the declaration Hooper wanted her to sign. W H Matthews called on Jones Bros. who say that claims have since come in which alter the balance leaving Smith their debtor to the extent of £50. Under these circumstances, Mrs Matthews cannot sign the declaration. Asks if Hooper is doing anything about Lancefield, who owes £66 18s 10d. Jones Bros. say that Smith is so much in debt that legal proceedings are a waste of money. Suggests Hooper could arrange payment by instalments with Smith's brother as security.
