    Hopes Tom will get what he wants on favourable terms. Did they hear the two men talking from Bristol district as if it was almost impossible to get a farm and how very expensive it was to start a son on a farm these days? Min says Robert to leave school soon she wishes he could go to agricultural college but he would have to be a bit older. Demands for higher wages and everything a terrific price. Geof & Norah went to performance of Messiah at Bedford School by the combined choirs of the school & the High School [25 March 1952]. On Monday Norma coming for the night and will take Colin back for the holidays. Bess has stared another Turkey rug but has had a job to get Turkey wool. Trees down the drive coming out and look pretty. Olive has stared spring cleaning. ‘Our kitchen has made such a difference with washing up etc especially after I have been cooking, where I had to take everything out into the scullery to wash up & also fetch water – now I only have to turn round to the sink – after nearly 40 years of the old way! Well, its just 40 years since we came to Willington & we had 3 years at Scarsdale’
