  • Scope and Content
Mrs Roberts difficulties. Went to Totternhoe with Ro & Geof ‘as we had the hood & curtains up it was not at all cold – I rode at the back to let Geof ride in front...’ Linen. ‘Disgusted with the Bedford people as there are 4 candidates for this division and by splitting the coalition vote we feel pretty sure they will let the labour man in. Also we think Kellaway has done well so we are voting for him. The labour man polled about 10000 votes I believe last time to Kellaway’s 14,000 and as his vote has to be split into 3 he hasn’t much chance I should say. We went to hear him speak at the schoolroom on Wednesday night – also Rev Rhys Mrs Lloyd George’s private secretary.’ Interested to read about the foundations stone laying of Kimble Free Church. Description of stone laying for the new hall at Willington [27 Oct 1922] and the tea and social afterwards, the trouble with the Kingstons and programme for the opening if it is up by Christmas. Jack Godber and Willie Warrener both at the Modern had their fireworks after tea yesterday. ‘I have heard a lot about Woolworths but have never seen one of their places’. Children’s half term this week. Glad to know George is better.
