  • Scope and Content
Thanks for letter last week and for sending the Bucks Herald. Had papers from Mrs Cope which ‘I sent on to Min never dreaming but what Elsie would have one also, however she tells me Mrs C did not send her one nor has she written to her…I had bought one of the previous week & sent that also with the acct of his death…I was glad to get a letter from Elsie but she seems rather despondent poor girl..’ Ike looked up some law books in the library as to what the widow can claim. Funeral will come to about £16. Mr Kingston [the new vicar] came in this morning – their furniture should arrive tomorrow so one sister to stay with them tonight. Glad piano arrived not much the worse expects Edith and Tom will be glad to have it. Has been having another turnaround of furniture. Had letter from Ernest. Hopes Elsie will not dwell on Mrs Cope’s behaviour. Tulips nearly out in the front beds.
