    Declaration of trust: William Nicolls, rector of St. Luke, Middlesex Joseph Holmes, treasurer of charity school for 20 poor girls in said parish; George Roadley, churchwarden; that £133 in 3% Bank Annuities transferred to them by Samuel Whitbread in memory of his wife Harriot (died 22 April 1764), first subscriber to above school, is on trust:- for buying yearly straw hats, green and white, such as the girls now have and were made at Dunstable, a pattern of which is preserved; the brims not to exceed 5 1/2"; and not to be lined; but to be tied on with a green silk riband such as is now sold for 6d. yard; remainder of money to be laid out in religious books; witnesses. Thomas Strong, clerk to Mr. Stagg 23 Aug 1764 endorsed with appointment of John Knowles as treasurer in place of Joseph Holmes, deceased 3 Oct 1768
