  • Scope and Content
Ike & children arrived home safely. Janie only stayed a week. ‘Elsie Fulks seems to be married very comfortably & lives in a flat close to her Mother & Father & May is going to be married shortly’. Went to Whites at Sundon ‘they are only a few minutes from Lairds in fact almost join them. We went for a walk past their place & it does look a place – Young Atkins from Cople is there as pupil, I believe they have 3 but by all accounts it is a roughish place. They say these pupils have to work very hard - & learn very little. The Church is in a dreadful state & cannot be used & the Vicarage looks very unkempt so I thought altogether it looked a funny place to live at. This is Lower Sundon, Upper Sundon may be better but I expect you know it as it isn’t far from you. Whites have made their place look a lot better, or else that looked as bad last summer when we went over…we have cut some of our grass…’
