    Expecting Edith for visit. Glad George doing well at school. ‘Willie joined the boat club this term so goes on the river most days – which he likes. Also has begun shooting (in the corps) which he also likes, he has had a gun licence for about a year now & occasionally knocks a rabbit over – shot a big owl one day in mistake’ Guinea chick laying. Told children would buy eggs but doesn’t know what is their value. Apple blossom has been lovely. ‘Sent some eggs to Peacock’s sale yard a week ago they made 5/2 & he charged ¼ for selling 5 scores they offered me 4.3 in the shops’
