Letter and envelope from Emma Chapman to Bessie Godber, Pattenham Wishing Happy Birthday. Hopes Willie’s eye getting better, supposes they are busy with pig killing. Minnie & George visited Thursday and Edgar came from Leighton. Minnie looked thin Edgar had a bad cold. Went to church Mr Howdon not out but Mrs Howdon was and she and Mrs Ted are getting up a tea for Mothers Meeting. Hens beginning to give eggs now. Wretched pen. ‘Ernest has notice to go tomorrow so I suppose he will but he may be sent back’
